I am one of a very few women who worked on the Apollo Program in the 1960s and 1970s. as Aerospace Engineers. Yes, there are women who worked as "rocket scientists". As far as I know we worked at Cape Kennedy, the Marshall Space Flight Center and at the Michoud Plant in New Orleans, La. I worked on the First or S1-C Stage of the Saturn V. The Boeing had the contract from NASA to assemble the 1st Stage. This was the biggest rocket part ever built in history. |
